I’m on Patreon

I want to personally connect with people to share my comics and stories. I'm working on multiple strategies to do this online and offline. One approach I'm using is Patreon.

What is Patreon

Patreon has become a favorite place for an artist to build a following of people. If you haven't heard of Patreon, it's a unique social network where artists share their work in exchange for monetary support from people known as patrons.

Providing patronage isn't a new concept. It's been around throughout the history of art. I won't bother you with that history (see Wikipedia), but if you are interested in supporting artists, like me, check out Patreon.

Using Patreon to connect with people who are willing to offer monetary support for my art is a great way to know my work has value to others. I'm excited about the possibilities of interacting with people at such an intimate level.

How I plan to use Patreon

As I work on illustration, comics, and children’s book projects, I’ll post behind-the-scenes updates of my work, documenting my drawing and writing processes including the following.

  • sketches and visual explorations

  • work in progress final art

  • story ideas

  • rough drafts

The idea of sharing my work progress has been a desire of mine for years. I enjoy sharing and getting feedback and critiques on my work.

Become a Patron

Anyone can become a patron to enjoy and get exclusive cartoon art. I hope you’ll consider becoming a patron. Become a Member on KrisBlack.com has more details, or jump straight to my Patreon page to instantly join my community.
