About Kris Black
Kris Black is an American cartoonist and visual designer.
I was born and raised in Greenville, South Carolina, United States. I graduated from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art Studio with a concentration in Graphic Design.
I started my career as a graphic designer and illustrator for my state’s health department, eventually being promoted to art and photography director. I worked for Squarespace on their product support team, and authored two books about Squarespace—Squarespace For Dummies and Squarespace 6 For Dummies. My primary job is working for a user experience company helping corporations create usable and friendly websites and applications.
I’m married to Stacey Black, who has been creating miniature watercolor and pen & ink paintings—maybe you’ve heard of her? We have two smart, sweet, and beautiful kids; a hound dog; and a cat.
My Tools & Resources page shows what I use to create graphic novels, comics, and children’s books.
