Hulk Doing Needlepoint

Hulk Doing Needlepoint

This illustration of Marvel’s Hulk published in the blog post, Don’t Hulk Smash Your Users, for a user experience consulting firm, truematter.

What does Hulk have to do with user experience?

The article defines a power user, someone who builds websites, as a superhero. It’s impossible for a power user to use websites like an ordinary user. Much like how it would be impossible for Hulk doing ordinary tasks like dishwashing, folding of laundry, and needlepoint.

UX Utility Belt

UX Utility Belt

This illustration is for an article I wrote at truematter. The article is about a secret weapon a company can use to create web or software apps employees will want to use. That secret weapon is user experience (UX).

For this piece, Batman came to mind. He has one of the best secret weapons in comics—his utility belt. To keep the focus on the utility belt, I opted to draw a cropped view of his waist.

Frog on a Floating Lilly Pad

Frog on a Floating Lilly Pad

I researched David Wiesner’s illustration style for an article I wrote in my journal. One of Wiesner’s children’s book I reviewed was about frogs flying on Lilly pads.

Patreon - Connected

Patreon - Connected

When I created my Patreon account I wrote an article in my journal to promote it. Because Patreon allows creators to connect directly with their patrons, I wanted to represent that interconnectedness in this article art.

Ringing Alarm Clock

Ringing Alarm Clock

I think a lot of people at some point in their lives experience a “wake-up call” to make a significant change in their life. I sure did, and I wrote about it in my journal.
