Self Portrait

Self PortraitsI’m gonna start doing a self-portrait once a month. This is to help me gauge how much I’m learning as I move closer to my goal of submitting a portfolio to Pixar. I hoping my self-portraits will have more “life” to them. Guess we’ll just have to wait and see.

The image above is a couple of different styles. The one on the left is how I prefer to draw my self-portrait. The one on the right is incorporating more curves and a less stylistic approach. Plus it makes me look (or feel) older which isn’t cool since my 30th birthday is in one month.

If you have any pointers or tips please feel free to send them my way via the comments section or via email.

This is the opposite process that I've gone through, and doing more cartooney stuff helped everything I draw. Then again, the main thing I need to do is simply DRAW more.

Very nice style though, I love it!
