I am sitting in front of my Mac thinking to myself, “I really don’t like my Mighty Mouse.”
I know a lot of you out there are probably wondering, “Why? The Mighty Mouse is soooooo cool. How could you not like the Mighty Mouse?!” My answer is simple, the design. “How could I not like the design,” you ask? I know it is “Designed by Apple in California” and everything Apple designs is sexy, slick and easy to use, but not the Mighty Mouse.
The faults I find in the design of the Mighty Mouse are not of a visual nature, but rather of a tactile nature. When my hand rests on top of the Mighty Mouse, there is no indication as to where my fingers and palm should rest. Nothing in the design guides my fingers to where they should be. I constantly find my fingers clicking to far back on the mouse or on the wrong side of the scroll ball. Ah, the scroll ball. Without a doubt, the single most innovative feature of any mouse ever made. My problem, it just needs to be a wee bit bigger.
Personally, I would like to see Apple address my concerns. I’m almost positive there are others out there with the same problems I have. Let me know about your experiences with the Mighty Mouse.
